Listen to this-
"Don't blame Wall Street. Don't blame the big banks. If you don't have a job, and you're not rich, blame yourself," ~Herman Cain candidate for president.
Now this-
“The fact is these people are anarchists. They have no idea what they’re doing out there,” ~Long Island Republican Congressman Peter King
And this-
"I regard the Wall Street protests as a natural outcome of a bad education system teaching them really dumb ideas." ~ Former Speaker of the House and 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich
Republicans, just when I thought they couldn't get any more stupid. Besides their dismissive belittlement of the Occupy Wall-Street protesters they also seem to be blind too. Among the groups who are a part of these protests you can find labor unions, airline pilots, librarians, students, the handicapped, the elderly, and just your typical everyday citizens. The Republicans can't see anything but bored kids with purple hair. I keep hearing the Wall- Street protesters compared to hippies from the 60's. I wasn't around in the 60's and a lot of the protesters weren't either. They haven't just been protesting the wars, they have more than that on their minds.I can't tell you every issue that the Occupy Wall Street protesters are upset about but I can speak to my frustrations. I spent $75.00 at the grocery store last night. Among the few bags I left the store with were several products that had been quietly downsized. The trend lately is to lower the amount of product you bring home as if by magic. One of the magic tricks is changing the container shape a little cone shape at the bottom of the jar or bottle can saves lots of money. You are hardly going to notice that bottle of katsup only gave you 17 servings instead of 20, right? The katsup makers are counting on that. take a good look at all the items you purchase next time you go shopping and you will see what I mean. From Oreos that lack the filling they had in the past to laundry soap that comes with a 'easy pour' spout which also includes a bottle that holds just a few ounces less detergent.
Making products using the cheapest materials, changing the unit of measurement so that even though the package reads the same, you are getting less and paying more. Another trick is to make things look like they are being made easier for you because the company cares about your quality of life. Those little Coke bottles that are 'serving size'? Yea, that 'convenience' is costing you.
Do you have medical coverage from your employer? Do you have to pay for part of it? Most of us do now. In fact the 'medical coverage' offered by most companies should be called 'medical coupon' since some aren't getting much more than a slight discount from what they would pay if they got coverage on their own.
The Feds put some rules down on banks, pretty mild rules IMO. One of these rules regulated the amount a bank could charge you for using your card at a store. It really bothered me I would drive around to save $.02 per gallon on gas only to come out even cause of those charges. The banks considered the amount of revenue they would lose because of the new regulations and figured they needed that money. Now you can pay the bank a lump sum of $5.00 per month to use your bank card on top of the lowered fee they charge you at the time of your purchase.
Gas prices go up hand in hand with oil prices. Even though the oil has been purchased ahead of the price hike you can expect the price to instantly rise if oil prices go up. Now if you think about that then you could expect that gas prices would go down along with the current oil prices, right? Hell no. IF gas prices go down it is at an incredibly slow pace. As a result of this practice and the raising of prices "just because" every so often the oil companies have been making record profits. When anyone complained about it the oil companies would reply "supply and demand" expecting that to shield them from any further negative image caused from their price gouging. Well yea there is a demand because people have to use their cars to get to work to pay their bills, like gas for the car. Public transit is not even close to being an alternative for most people so they have no choice but to drive. The demand is forced and that is a bit unfair. I can understand if the oil companies were looking at some hardship that was going to hurt them if prices didn't go up but that's not the case because they are making record profits. Making record profits at a time when so many people are struggling to get a job and keep their homes seems a bit cold. I'm not saying they stop making money, make a profit, but RECORD PROFITS? The raise in gas prices also costs us more in increased price for goods and services because companies pass the rise in overhead down to the consumer.
At this time about half the country has heard about the Occupy protests. Of those people 19% disagree with the protesters on their basic core issues, one of which is corporate greed.
19%....that is a very small percentage. In this country how many issues can you think of that only 19% of the population disagree with it? That figure alone should strike fear in the hearts of every politician in office and especially those who are sitting on their stupid fat asses talking shit (republicans)
That idiot Newt has some nerve saying the 99% are a result of a 'bad education' cause obviously his math skills are shit.

Across The Board Game
I know this has been talked about a little bit, seems towards the end of last year a lot of local and state governments were actually doing it.
I am wondering why we are not even discussing it.
Cut the budget across the board. There should be very little if anyone spared from this cut. I would like to see programs for the disabled and elderly left alone. Those people either can't do anything to help themselves or shouldn't have to, they have paid their dues.
I don't know what percentage this cut would have to be I have heard 5% but even if it was 10% so what?
I have taken a paycut over the last 3 years that is at least equal to 10%. My company has not given a raise in pay for the last 3 years. The lowest percentage I could have received was 3% that alone comes close to 10%. If you factor no longer matching 401k contributions, and no bonuses due to the drop in business hurting our bottom line then that number goes even higher.
Is there any one elected leader out there who has even suggested this type of plan? Why not?
Don't get me wrong, I think their are plenty of other things we need to take a close look at such as the taxes on the rich. I wonder when we are going to stop fucking around and allowing the Republican idiots make stupid excuses for why they don't want to tax the rich. Every time I listen to some idiot try to rationalize his stand on tax cuts for wealthy Americans it makes me embarrassed for them and for us as a country. It's like we have lost the ability to use our voices in any type of intelligent manner. Instead we allow big mouth idiots to distract us, we waste countless hours debating stupid suggestions made by ignorant people, and we blunder along trying to figure out how to move forward instead of backwards.
Any moron who thinks it will be helpful to anyone if we spend more time trying to repeal health care needs to shut the hell up. To spend more time working to repeal it is foolish and then if that effort was successful what do we do? Go back to the old way? Work out and debate yet another plan? Come on, let's at least be realistic. Even if you are not happy with the plan it is something different rather than doing the same damn thing over and over. Let's see how it goes, and then get rid of what does not work, I can't believe every aspect of the health care reform bill is doomed to utter failure. Is it perfect? Probably not. Is anyone out there going to tell me we shouldn't make any changes until we have a perfect plan to put in place?
If we make cuts to everything equally across the board no one can complain. Everyone tightens their belt the same amount and best of all....It keeps those insane half-witted republicans from trying to cure the deficit by sacrificing the elderly and the poor to their god of the almighty dollar. I'll tell you this I'm not going to lump all republicans in a pile but the vast majority (and on some days all) of the small-minded, bigoted, self-righteous,intolerant, homophobic crap I read and hear about these days comes from the mouths of republicans. People are not going to keep putting up with it fellas, get with the times or get out of the way.

The Trump Card
Donald Trump. I have never been real fond of Mr Trump, not for any one specific reason, just don't like him.
There is just something about him, and I trust my 'something' sensor (also known as 'the little voice')
But, if I was to be forced, I could probably share some thoughts......
Why come out punching at the current president about something as lame as his birth certificate? The issue had been resolved to the satisfaction of all the sane people out there. The only people who still had an problem were the ones who would tell you Obama was born on a sandy middle-eastern knoll even if you took them back in a time machine and allowed them to cut Obama's umbilical cord while they drank margaritas on the beach while hula dancers performed for the occasion.
I guess Trump thought this was where he wanted to start building his base supporters. Maybe he used the following logic "If I can get those morons to buy into my spiel they will be hooked forever, look at the Kennedy thing"
And if Trump is such a bad-assed business man, with so much power why can't he get a little info on whether the president's birthplace is really in the USA? I can understand if John Conspiracy can't manage the resources to find out if his peas really came from a can much less info on the validity of Obama's birthplace. You would think Trump, being a successful business man, would be able to get a little insight on the matter from people more credible than the Area 51 Lodge members.
Then when Obama does what is equal to the smart kid using algebra to make the dodge ball hit the loudest kid in class right in the mouth, the loud kid gets up and shouts "GOT HIM!"
Why Trump actually expects people to think he won this battle is beyond me. I was thinking someone might need to get him a towel for his bloody nose.
You are probably wondering what's next. What else does Donald have in his extremely expensive bag full of tricks? Well, in case you missed it, he already whipped it out.
The next strategic move is for Donny to use a gig speaking in front of a Republican women's group to his advantage by cussing at/about the enemy. The enemy, to Trump it seems, is the current leadership, the Chinese, and anyone who has to do with oil. While I would agree that many of the people Trump was talking about do fit his description and I would like to tell them...wait, let me use Donald's words, he's so cool "Listen you fuck, we're gonna tax you 25 percent." or "You're not gonna raise that fucking price, you understand me?"
In fact, I'm gonna try that on the guy at the gas station on the corner. I wonder how that will work out...yea, it won't work. Most likely the dude is going to tell me to go fuck myself and then tell me he is going to charge me an extra nickel a gallon for being a dick.
While listening to what Donny said at the women's meeting was extremely entertaining and I have to admit Donny got some points from me for having the balls to do it. A leader it does not make, not a leader of people anyway. I have a habit of telling people they are stupid whenever I feel they deserve it. I do it when I am done trying to work things out. I do it after some effort has been made. Trump hasn't even scheduled a meeting. When(or big IF) he does ever manage to meet with the people he has already told indirectly to fuck off because they are stupid, what do you think they are gonna be thinking?
If I need to talk to my neighbor about his dog taking a dump on my front lawn all the time do I spend the week before on my cell phone in the front lawn saying things like "I'm going to tell that lop if he doesn't do something about that dog I'm going to make soup out of it and serve it at the homeless shelter, then I'm going to bang his wife" Well, I could do that but....
Now a few words for the people out there who may be dreaming of 'President Trump' buttons pinned to their sweaters.....Sure he seems cool, telling those people you hate to fuck off and not taking any of their shit. Trump does it his way and those losers will do it his way too. Think about this...... How long before you become the ones who don't want to do it the Trump way and he is telling you to go fuck yourself? Oh, it will happen....trust that you fucking moron.

An Independent Party
The Democrats and Republicans are in trouble. the reason why is of their own making.
through arrogance and ignorance the two party system is finally working together to achieve a result that, in my opinion will be one of the best things to ever happen to this country.
The evolution of a two party system has always bothered me. I know the reasons our elected officials bringing about a two party system, it reminds me of religion, a way to control people. The issue that has always bothered me is the way a party system restricts choices and views.
Whatever party you belong to has a stance on issues and if you deviate from that platform you are seen as disloyal to your party.
maybe it's just me but if you consider each issue independently it seems the government and society would be more likely to find answers that work out better for everyone.
Now I have given away the name of the of a group strengthened by bickering, infighting, childish debates and inaction...the Independents.
One poll puts the numbers as follows
Independents 39%
Democrats 33%
Republicans 22%
The good thing, again, in my opinion, is the fact Independents are growing, and growing fast.
As the youth enter the tricky world of political opinion they are realizing that to align themselves with one political party will limit their choices on issues that many times seem to be common sense unrealized because of a pledge to one party or another.
I wonder if the ways of the old boy network are being slowly squashed by the results of arrogant and often stupid old men and women too caught up in their foolish ways to notice a group growing behind them.
Wouldn't it be ironic if a group call 'Independents' could manage to bring us all closer together?

Obama Apple Seed
I won't claim to be a political guru. I am smart enough to know what I don't know much about. I don't have time to listen to all the information on all the issues. Part of me thinks the government makes sure they keep us busy in order to assure we don't have time to pay too much attention. If we were to have too much time on our hands and start learning exactly how inept, greedy and stupid or leadership was we would also have time to protest about it.The way it is now even if we get good and pissed who has time to even write a letter much less attend any type of demonstration?
Despite my ignorance on some of the workings of the political system I have observed some things. One of those things is that when a person is running for the position of president they say things, make promises and have lofty goals. If it is a run for second term the promises are usually a bit more subdued there is a reason for that I think. When someone is running for the office the first time no matter how old and wise they are, they are ignorant. There really is no way they could know what they can achieve while in office because they don't know what is in store for them. I have always accepted this fact and taken any political promises for what they are worth....luck. My dad has always said "the president has very little power" I agree with that mostly. The president has selective power, there are times and issues in which the president is the most powerful person you can find find involved. Then there are times when he is nothing more than a bouncer, allowing certain people into the party and keeping others outside and when the party goers start getting rowdy he can advise them to chill or get their asses kicked out. It seems the current commander and chief is getting a thumbs down from a lot of people these days.He is accused of not following through on promises, making an about face on others and not even trying to address some issues at all.
I think maybe some of these people are not taking into account the presidents ignorance before taking office. Another reason for the presidents lack of desired results could be because he had faith. He had faith that the people who he had to deal with on these issues were people who had some common sense, he was mistaken. Many of the people who must co-operate on the change we would like to see happen, are stupid. Many have their own agenda and change does not help them move towards their own desired result. Some are stuck in the old ways of doing things and nothing can make them do it different. In your daily dealings with people you come across people who do things in the slowest way possible, right? You come across people who couldn't figure out how to assemble a sandwich, right? You come across people who wouldn't do things different if you cut of both arms and a leg, am I right about that? Well those are the same kind of people we are talking about. I have said this before THE SAME PEOPLE YOU DEAL WITH IN YOUR LIFE EXIST EVERYWHERE. They look different, dress different and even speak a different language maybe but the same types of people are everywhere. There is not a special type of attitude that people who work in government have, that is just people's incorrect perception. Trying to force this perception into being reality is another part of the problem.
The other thing that bothers me a lot is the lack of patience. Who in their right mind thinks that YEARS of our country being run into the ground can be reversed at a snap of the fingers? What takes years to tear down, will take that many years, at least, to repair in most cases. What I have seen is a definitive change in direction. Even on issues that have not been effected at all, there has been positive dialog started. Sometimes all you can do is plant a seed and wait for it to grow into responsible and progressive change. Obama has been planting seeds like crazy. He has said things that you would never imagine coming out of the mouth of a president. Even if those statements do not result in a instant result, the seed has been planted.
Is Obama perfect? Um, no he isn't he is still a politician but then again who is being realistic to expect him to be ideal? I mean after all the presidents we have had leading our country shouldn't we be a bit more intelligent in what we expect? It seems foolish to complain about the exact same types of things that have been said of every previous president, and then act as though we have been betrayed.I don't think we have been betrayed by anything but our own unreasonable expectations in most cases. It is true, you reap what you sow but you don't plant corn on a Wednesday and eat it on Friday. It takes some responsible actions to care for your crops first, like getting rid of those pesky republicans....I mean weeds.
